Welcome.
Jonia Mariechild’s work focuses on recovering and growing through the after-effects of trauma, including that from surgery, accidental injury, and the loss and disappointment experiences of life. Since these traumas often impact one’s ability to express creatively, experience peak performance, communicate compassionately, and build satisfying relationships at work and in life, many leaders and professional organizations across the country deeply value her work.
Her ability to embrace a wide range of human experience has prepared her well for the compassionate assistance she now provides individuals, family systems, work groups, and communities. She is often called on to provide executive coaching, team building, family or organizational systems process, and non-violent communication coaching.
Practice
Her private practice unites traditional modes of counseling with body work to bring healing to the body, mind, and spirit. It is easy to lose touch with one’s own body, but the body itself carries the memories we make and, if ignored, can prevent us from making the steps forward we want to take (if you’ve ever remembered an old friend or significant other based only on a passing smell, you’ve experienced body memory). It is a collaborative practice and she welcomes your voice into the process of finding your path forward into a richer, more balanced, welcoming life that embraces the full range of human experience.
While there are many ways that this is accomplished, here are four of the keys that she utilizes in her practice.
01.
–
The unity between various medicinal practices. Many, many cultures have found ways to live well in this world. By introducing those different pathways, you can find the ways of being that work with you. Clients of different faith traditions, gender expressions, and age groups are welcome.
02.
–
Bringing unity to the body, mind, and spirit. The body, mind, and spirit share space and work together in (quite literally) a million different ways throughout the day. Jonia’s practice assumes that all three benefit from acknowledgment and mutual treatment.
03.
–
The compassionate acknowledgement of trauma. Your story is carried by your body and your mind throughout your daily life. By acknowledging and working through your past experiences (whether recent or not), you can find liberty in creating the life you long to live.
04.
–
The practice of nonviolent communication. By learning how to communicate needs in a way that embraces and celebrates vulnerability, Jonia is able to aid in renewing and enhancing familial, romantic, professional, and platonic communication.
Joy seems to be part of an unconditional wish to live, not holding back because life does not meet our preferences or expectations.
