FAQ

q. What is body work?

A. Body work combines different massage and therapeutic techniques to help restore natural balance within the physical body, to aid in the healing, recovery, and growth of the mind. Likewise, working through traditional therapy helps bring healing to the body as tension, grief, or stress is released and worked out. Most therapists either focus on the physical body or the mind. After training in traditional therapy, I concluded that I could do my best work in focusing on the relationship and the balance between the body and the mind, which is the focus of my private practice.

Q. what is nVC?

A. (From the Center for Nonviolent Communication). Nonviolent Communication, (NVC), is based on the principles of nonviolence-- the natural state of compassion when no violence is present in the heart. NVC begins by assuming that we are all compassionate by nature and that violent strategies—whether verbal or physical—are learned behaviors taught and supported by the prevailing culture.

NVC also assumes that we all share the same, basic human needs, and that all actions are a strategy to meet one or more of these needs. People who practice NVC have found greater authenticity in their communication, Increased understanding, deepening connection and conflict resolution.
